Shiptstation Templates FAQ

Shipstation Custom Packing Slips

  • What shipstation plan do you need to be on in order to customize packing slips?

Taken directly from shipstation support, "You must be on a Silver plan or higher to create and edit packing slip templates."

  • How do I add a product image to my shipstation packing slip?

Many people often add the [Image Url] field into the Order Items section thinking that it's going to render the product image BUT the field is ONLY THE URL. Because of that, you'll need to add some basic HTML code in order for the packing slip to understand that the link is an image. Here it is:  <img src = "[Image Url]">. • How do you change your packing slip in ShipStation?

Check out our blog article here on how to easily update or change your shipstation store's default packing slip. [VIDEO]

  • My logo is only showing a small semi-transparent square?

It's possible that you have a bad image url but it may be that the https url is simply not rendering.  Try removing the 's' in https so your image or logo url looks something like:  http://www.sitename.com/images/mylogo.jpg

  • Do you create landscape designs?

Shipstation does not work well with landscape designs. I have created one 4x6 in landscape that works BUT only if you need 1-3 line items on an order. The problem with landscape is you can't ever have a page 2.  Any additional pages will not print properly or will switch to portrait. Over the years I have created a few landscape designs.  My custom 4x6, Home Depot, and a new Amazon design as well. I don't do them often but I do have a few available if you are interested. Contact me and let me know.

  • What do you typically charge for custom designs?

If you use my website contact form and not Fiverr, my typical custom designs range from $120-$300 depending on the overall design complexity.

  • Why do all of your digital products end in $$.96 ?

Ahh yes, I met my wife in 1996 so I thought 96 cents would be a good round up amount to get the price to the next dollar. Supposedly, items priced with $0.97 sell better from a psychological standpoint but I think 96 cents is better.  :)

  • How do you provide us the HTML and CSS code?

I've done this a few different ways over the years but I've learned that simply adding all of the code into a single RTF (text) or Word .docx file is easiest.  There are four sections of code that need to be copied and pasted, one section at a time, into the appropriate packing slip sections. Order Header, Order Items Header, Order Items, and Order Footer.  You simply copy and paste four times and then follow my instructions if you need to make any minor changes. There is a large chunk of white space separating each code section to make it very easy to read. That way you can easily copy only the section you need to.

  • How does the license work?

Very simple. Whatever you buy as a digital product can only be used in your shipstation account. You can use a single template for multiple stores in a single shipstation account if you'd like to. Each design is a one-time purchase and there is no subscription fee or anything like that. You can't resell or give the designs to anyone else BUT I'd be super grateful if you sent any other shipstaton users my way.

  • Will You Provide A Refund For One Of Your Packing Slips?

No. We do not offer refunds as the file(s) you will obtain once you have completed your purchase cannot be returned to us in exchange. We have no way of stopping you from using the code nor the product and as such, can't offer a refund. If you have any product questions or concerns, please contact us before buying.

Shipstation Email Templates

  • How many email templates do I need for shipstation?

If you want to use them, there are two available.  The shipment confirmation email and the delivery confirmation email. These let your buyer or recipient know when the package is shipped as well as when it is delivered.

  • Can I display the detailed line items similar to the packing slip?

No. The order items as listed inside the emails are a bit more limiting where it's mostly high-level information about the items that are being delivered.

  • Can you add my logo, add a custom signature, share my social links?

Yes, yes, and yes. Those are all perfect use cases for customizing your email templates. We can add coupons, support information, and more. Fully customize the font and colors as needed.

  • Can you create custom email templates for shipstation use?

The majority of my shipstation custom HTML and CSS work is for packing slips but I am happy to work on email templates and provide those as well. Please fill out my custom request form and I'll be in touch.

  • Do you the buyer need to help in the testing process?

Oddly enough, shipstation only allows test emails to be sent to the shipstation account holder. Because of this, I often require cooperation and testing support while we work on and finalize your email template. Most of it can be coded and designed outside of shipstation BUT once we are ready to test it and make minor changes, I will need your cooperation.

  • Do you need login access to my account?

For email template design and testing, yes, it is the preferred way. Is it required that I have login access to your shipstation account? No. We can figure out a way to get you the templates where you can install and test them yourself, then send us any final revision requests.

  • Why do you not have any email templates listed for sale?

We have very few email template designs available currently. Please contact us if you require an email template. It didn't make sense for us to list them as digital products because it requires some back and forth testing for each scenario.
